Technology Overview
Pristine Power intends to bridge the gap between intermittent, renewable resources and the anticipated development of large scale nuclear and large scale hydroelectric baseload capacity, with environmentally responsible projects that generate reliable power. Pristine has identified the following technologies to be the primary focus of its on-going development programs:
Conventional Gas Turbine Generation / Cogeneration
Conventional Gas Turbine Generation / Cogeneration involves the combustion of natural gas to drive a gas turbine generator.
Energy Recovery Generation (ERG®)
Energy Recovery Generation (ERG®) involves the use of waste heat from existing industrial processes to generate electricity.
BioEnergy Generation
BioEnergy Generation involves the combustion or gasification of wood waste, which generates heat that is converted to high pressure steam and is utilized in a steam turbine generator.
Run-of-River Hydro
Run-of-River Hydro involves the partial diversion of water from a river, through a penstock to turn the turbine generator and generate electricity.
Wind Energy
Electricity from wind energy is one of the fastest growing methods of electrical generation in the world. Kinetic energy from moving air is converted into electricity by wind turbines that are mounted in locations where there are favourable weather patterns.
