Klinaklini Run of River Hydroelectric Generation Project

The proposed Klinaklini Run of River hydroelectric project is a large scale Run of River hydroelectric generation facility proposed for the central coast of British Columbia, approximately 22 km north of the terminus of Knight Inlet and 167 km northeast of Campbell River. Assuming a nameplate capacity of 500 MW, the proposed facility would be expected to produce 2,400 GWh per year, based on a 45% annual average load factor. The introduction of generation at this point in the system is expected to have positive electricty benefits for Vancouver Island and displace power imported from the Lower Mainland.

Machmell River Run of River Hydroelectric Project

The proposed Machmell River Run of River hydroelectric project is a proposed Run of River hydroelectric generation facility located on British Columbia’s central coast, approximately 87 km northwest of the proposed Klinaklini Run of River hydroelectric generation facility and 180 km northeast of Campbell River. With a nameplate capacity of 308 MW, the proposed facility is expected to produce 1,037 GWh per year, based on a 38% annual average load factor.
